The Spiir service is shutting down on June 8, 2026.

Dear Spiir user,

We have decided to discontinue the Spiir service on June 8th, 2026.

After more than a decade of improving financial habits and awareness for thousands of users, shutting down Spiir has not been an easy decision, and we want to sincerely thank you for having been a part of our journey.

You do not need to take any action unless you wish to download or save information for your own records before the service ends.

We would like to thank you for having used Spiir and for the trust you have placed in us in providing insights into your finances over the years.

What this means for you:

  • You will be able to use Spiir until June 8th, 2026. From this date, you will not be able to log in anymore.
  • Your service agreement with us will automatically terminate on June 8th, 2026
  • Any consents you have given for us to access your account information data will no longer be used after termination, and we will stop collecting data from your accounts.
  • We will delete or anonymise your personal data after termination.
  • You do not need to take any action unless you wish to download or save information for your own records before the service ends.

FAQ

Can I download a copy of my data?

Yes, we offer three kinds of data export:

  1. Simple transactions export (CSV-only) that includes visible transactions and most commonly needed fields. Hidden transactions (categorized as 'Ignore', 'Transfer' etc) are not included.
  2. Detailed transactions export that includes a lot more fields with more meta-data, and hidden transactions. This export is available as both CSV and JSON.
  3. Full data export that includes all data Spiir processes about you. This export is a ZIP-file containing multiple CSV files.

You can export from both our mobile app and our web-version.

App

To access and use this feature, from the Spiir app home screen:

  • Press “More” (☰)
  • Under “Settings” select “Profile”
  • Select the data you want to download from the "Export Transactions” or “Export Data” sections
  • Choose a location to save this data to on your device, click “Save”
  • Note: This feature requires app version 7.5.0 or newer.

Web-version

You can export your data in our web-version. While the overall web-version is only available in Danish you can login no matter which country/language your Spiir user is in. The export page is available in English.

To export your data:

  1. Log in to our Web-version.
  2. Click on your email in the top-right corner.
  3. Click on “Eksporter data”.

In the section 'Set start/end date' you can choose a date range for the transactions you want to export. This affects both simple and detailed export.

What happens to my data when the service ends?

When Spiir is no longer available, we will:

  • stop collecting any new data; and
  • stop accessing your connected accounts.

We will continue to handle your personal data in line with applicable law and our privacy notice. This means your data will be deleted or anonymised once it is no longer required.

Some information may be retained for a limited period where required for legal, regulatory, audit or dispute resolution purposes, after which it will also be deleted or anonymised.

Will my data be shared with third parties?

No new sharing will take place after the service ends.

Any data that was previously shared with third party service providers as part of delivering the service remains subject to contractual and legal confidentiality and data protection obligations.

Will my bank accounts or other services be affected?

No. Ending this service does not affect your bank accounts or any services you have directly with your bank or other providers.

How does Spiir work?

You can get Spiir up and running in just a few minutes. All you have to do is connect your bank accounts to the app. Once you’ve connected your bank accounts, the magic begins.

Spiir automatically analyses your transactions, keeps track of your spending, and gives you a clear overview of your finances to make it easy for you to prioritise your money on the things you love. Pretty simple, right?

But that’s not all.

You can also save money on the things you buy daily with challenges or build financial awareness with fun facts and smart notifications that keep you in control of your money 🙌

Licensed by the FSA

We’re a licensed Account Information Service Provider and operate under the supervision of the Danish Financial Services Authority.

Securely connect your bank accounts

We use Mastercard OB Services to securely connect your bank accounts to Spiir.

Mastercard Open Banking Services is our product and is used by some of the biggest banks in the Nordics, including Danske Bank, DNB, Jyske Bank and more.

The connection between your bank accounts and Spiir is encrypted, and we can’t see your login information.

You control your data

You’re always in control of your data when you use Spiir.

After all, Spiir is your app. Only you can see what you spend your money on. We can’t see if you order that tasty number 17 from your favourite pizza place or go all-in on fresh veggies at the local farmers market. Those numbers belong to you.

Face ID, fingerprint or pincode

You can use Face ID, fingerprint, or a pincode of your choosing to keep Spiir extra safe.

We will never sell your data

Nothing is more important to us than keeping your data safe. And we will never sell your data! It’s entirely up to you if you want to share your data with anyone.
